Week Five: Why Being Online is Important

While I am surfing the website, I read the article about how teenagers are more connected to cyber world than adults. The author in the article says how teenagers value online chat more than adults. I agree with the article. It is for a fact that adults don't realize how important cyber world is to teenagers. Myriad of adults think that online brings harmful effects on teenagers. I think it is true about the negative effects, but cyber world do brings positive effects on teenagers.

Point one: Teenagers learn to socialize with others in virtual society. Through the use of internet, more teens nowadays know how to assimilate into the society and the basic skills to survive in it. The virtual world that they are in prepares them to live in a society similar to the structures of ours. By participate in the virtual society, teenagers learn to mature and to accept responsibilities. This helps them to survive under pressure.

Point two: The virtual society has changes that enables teenager to grow. Many socialize websites such as Facebook and Myspace enable teenagers to connect one and other. These socialize websites are similar structures to our current society in the real world. If the teenagers are able to manage network of friends, it enables the teenagers to have success in future careers.

Online society is permanent. Perhaps in the future, it will change. However, it will always exist. It is a way to prepare the youth to adapt into the society. Some of the adults need to realize that online society does help teenager to grow.

Personality Test

My type of personality is ISFJ. According to the test, I am Protector. The test says that Proctectors are loyal and responsible. Protectors are very diligent. Most Protectors prefer to work along, and they are not outgoing and talkative. It is likely for most people to assume Protectors are cold even though they are warm-hearted and sympathetic.

In the second test, I am 36% of Extraversion, 69% of Agreeableness, 68% of Conscientiousness, 48% of Neuroticism, 77% of Openness to Experience. Overall, I am very responsible and organized, reserved and serious, compassionate, and imaginative.

The third test says I value privacy and keep to themselves in social situations. I may probably hate conflict and rejection and make it a point to treat others with love, compassion, and respect. I tend to be achievement oriented but make sure to take time out for an earned break. I also tend to be stable under stress but not without a more emotional side. I would usually like to challenge the system but value the stability of the tried-and-true, hence I find myself giving in to tradition.

The fourth test has shown that I find guys from the pictures are less attractive than in person. My average rating of attractiveness is 1.08. I like guys who are rebellious and non-traditional. And I prefer guys who are intelligent.

According to the fifth test, I am quick-temper. And I get easily tense when dealing with stress and difficulty. I have work on my self-awareness.

I think some of tests are true. I do think I am little bit quick temper, and I know that I'm not talkative. So overall, I agree with some of the tests. I think out of all five tests only the first and third tests are correct. The other tests are not exactly true.

College Letter

Dear Mother,
How are you? I am perfectly well. In fact, I am more than fine. In the last two weeks of my coming, the students are awed by my presence. To tell you the truth, they completely admire me for my intelligence. I hear that many students think of me as a Goddess. Of course, I am not too proud to say that, but I am not completely disagree with that either.

My life in college has been swell. At first, I thought the life in dorm would be horrible because I have seen how obnoxious and disgusting the common girls would be. However, because of my superior social skills, I have managed to get along with the poor girls in my dorm. They practically treat me like a queen.

The classes for me are going well. My teacher often praises me for my intelligence. As for my classmates, they tend to admire me for the combination of beauty and intelligence. Yet, there are some girls who try to bring me down. I do not think too much of them. After all, they are just jealous because I am better than them.

Anyway, I hope to see you soon, Mother.
